Producing just 2 minutes of content was eye opening! I now have an even greater appreciation for the work that videographers do. I don’t know the exact ratio between edit time and the “final cut”, but I can tell you there is a lot of effort on the back end that you don’t see. Everyone from actors to stage crew who work together to create productions at the Aronoff or Playhouse in the Park deserve a great deal of praise too. I can only imagine trying to remember hundreds of lines if you are a lead actor for instance. That’s focus!

A special shout out to Ed Luft with Elegant Films, who helped to create all of our video content on the web site. In short, Ed knows his &@%*. He is a 5-time EMMY award winning producer and editor, working on various projects for Hallmark Entertainment such as “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Odyssey”. He also served on the advisory board for the WB Network and played a key role in the syndication of “Seinfeld”. Ed is no amateur, but I am when it comes to producing a picture perfect script.

Our new perforated prints are perfect for corporate events, allowing guests to receive their prints and tear off an attached coupon or ticket for redemption.

If you seek out boutique shops and restaurants, you likely have spent time in places such as “Old” Milford, Mariemont, Oakley, and Hyde Park. Did you know Bellevue, KY offers a similar experience just across the river? This past weekend, we set up a photo booth for Bellevue’s annual “In Vue” Winter Carnival just outside the Frame and Hang Studio. The carnival highlghts the historic Fairfield Ave. business district, which offers a fabulous shopping experience due to its ecclectic mix of retail stores offering hard to find items. Special shout out to Witt’s End Candy Emporium. Bellevue is a GREAT option for holiday shopping and you can take pleasure in knowing you are supporting small business and helping your local community thrive.

Photo booths and proms go together like peanut butter and jelly! High school students love taking pictures and they want to be entertained. Prom and after prom budgets often vary depending upon school district and fundraising efforts. As a way to offset the cost of renting a photo booth, one strategy we suggest is to divide the number of tickets expected to sell by the cost of the photo booth. Here’s an example: Let’s say “Awesome High School” in Cincinnati builds a package for $550 and they expect to sell 230 tickets. The prom committee will simply build the photo booth cost into each ticket. In this scenario, exactly $2.39 (550 / 230) will be added to each ticket price, a nominal fee considering how much value the photo booth adds! This figure of course will fluctuate, depending upon how many tickets will be sold, but you get the idea!

So what would Awesome High School get for that $550 you ask?

Last night I had the repeat privilege of being a part of the annual local chapter fundraiser for Make a Wish Foundation. Their mission statement is simple: to “grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength & joy”. Make a Wish does just that and the impacts are authentic and stirring.

Last night I saw the honorary wish kid Brock a.k.a “B-Rock” receive his own Louisville Slugger bat contract. LS will manufacture a custom bat, engraved with his Brock’s signature (which he signed in front of a huge crowd last night) just like his big league counterparts. No, seriously, bat contracts are reserved for major league ball players, so Brock is in good company! Being a huge Red’s fan, Brock received his wish last August to spend time on the field with the likes of Votto, Cueto, and his favorite player Brandon Phillips, who left a surprise message on the video screen in front of the whole Music Hall audience. Simply awesome! Our local chapter does fantastic, meaningful work that touches the lives of other children in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana as well. To learn more, visit oki.wish.org.
